2024 Film Festival Theme & Categories

In just a few short years, Timelapse has become a powerful medium for conveying ideas. 
Our Theme is: “Tell Me a Story!”

We will be looking for films which inform our viewers with a message. 
Our categories are:

the beauty of nature

humans and NATURE 

 living in the city

documentary / social commentary

experimental

World-Class Panel of Judges 

The Timelapse Film Festival Judges are renowned
for their passion, creativity and leadership in the Timelapse art-form.
Previous Judges have included

Godfrey Reggio
Director of the landmark film “Koyaanisqatsi” (1982), with cinematography by Ron Fricke (Baraka) and music composed by Philip Glass. The feature length Timelapse film combined state-of-the-art filmmaking with a stunning message that captivated audiences on the big screen. 

Tom Lowe
Award-Winning Cinematographer
and Director of "Timescapes"

Gunther Wegner
Inventor of LRTimelapse ,
the software which created a revolution in Timelapse Filmmaking.

Josh Dunlop
Owner of ExpertPhotography.com

Bobby Furst
Nationally known Assemblage artist and photographer/videographer.
Bobby is a driving force in the hi-desert art scene with his multi-media performance space "FurstWurld".

Eva Soltes
Filmmaker / Performing Arts Producer / Producer/Director of LOU HARRISON: A World of Music a documentary of the acclaimed American composer Lou Harrison.

Peter Bill
Professor of New Media and Interdisciplinary Arts
at Western New Mexico University
Founded the first timelapse-only film festival in North America.
